You will already be aware that we are collaborating with our group companies Clarkslegal and The CEIP on an initiative aimed at strengthening the Malaysian university system. Four Malaysian university Vice Chancellors are currently in the UK undergoing placements with host companies who have kindly agreed to give up their time to support our initiative. Our Malaysian visitors will be observing and learning about the running of large UK corporations, and shadowing senior executives to learn how they conduct business. They will then take this knowledge back to Malaysia where they will strengthen the running of their universities, making them more commercial and thus improving the professional development of their students.
Victoria Hall, Clarkslegal Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Forbury People said: “This is a hugely exciting and rare initiative for the Malaysian universities, which can observe UK businesses in operation and pick the brains of leading professionals about good commercial practice. We’re looking forward to hosting our own cohort and learning where we could input further into the development of Malaysian universities.”
The CEIP is committed to supporting sustainable growth and development of Commonwealth countries; it has 14 hubs in different commonwealth countries which link up entrepreneurs, companies, and investors. The CEIP is designed to assist SMEs in Commonwealth nations share knowledge, increase international awareness and facilitate trade and investment in environmental and sustainable technologies.
We strongly believe that education is a key factor in strengthening countries, which is why this initiative is targeted directly at improving the education / university system in Malaysia. The students are the next generation of professionals in Malaysia, they are Malaysia’s brightest and best – so their professional and academic development is crucial in securing a bright and successful future for Malaysia. The Vice Chancellors are therefore very keen to further their own professional development and maximise their impact on their Universities and students.
We are privileged to be supported by organisations that are keen to contribute to the sustainable development of commonwealth countries. The organisations involved are Reading Buses, Eurofoods Group, Hodge Bakshi accountants, Eden Motors, and others such as Cardiff University, Monmouthshire county council and CBRE Hotels. These organisations will all be hosting our visitors for periods throughout their months visit to the UK. They have now forged strong links with the Malaysian University system which they can use to continue to collaborate with Malaysia and the rest of the Commonwealth.
